EMS call leads to arrest for resisting arrest and falsely reporting an incident 3rd

On February 20th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 62 year old Jay Marsceill of Schodack, NY. Mr. Marsceill was originally charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the third degree after he repeatedly called 911 for an ambulance and reported priority symptoms when he simply wanted to go to detox. He has reported this 20 times in the last two months. When a Schodack Police Officer attempted to arrest him on the charge, he became combative and resisted arrest. During the struggle he grabbed the officer by the throat. He was eventually restrained and arrested. He now faces the additional charges of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment in the second degree. He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail, $1000 cash or bond, and is due back in the Schodack Town Court on 03/08/217 at 06:00 PM.

Traffic stop leads to DWI/Criminal Possession of Marijuana Arrest

On 02/16/2017 at around 11:30 pm Schodack Police arrested Benjamin Raymond, 36 of 646 Myrtle Ave, Albany for Driving While Intoxicated (BAC .11%), Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree, and Speed in Zone (66 mph in a 45 mph zone). While on patrol on Miller Road, Det. Sgt. Thomas stopped Mr. Raymond for speeding. An investigation revealed Mr. Raymond had over 2 ounces of marijuana and some marijuana candy in his possession. Mr. Raymond failed field sobriety testing at the traffic stop. Mr. Raymond was issued an appearance ticket for the marijuana possession and traffic tickets for DWI and speed in zone. Mr. Raymond is schedule to reappear in Town of Schodack Court on 03/08/2017 at 6:oo pm.

Traffic stop leads to DWI, marijuana possession, and resisting arrest

On February 4, 2017 The Town of Schodack Police Department arrested Bruce Moore of 15330 Columbia Turnpike in Schodack for DWI, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and various V&T violations. Officers Harrington and Montross received a report of suspected intoxicated driver operating a white Ford F150 headed eastbound on Columbia Turnpike from the Hannaford Plaza in the Town of East Greenbush. Mr. Moore was stopped on Columbia Turnpike near Old Miller Road. Mr. Moore failed field sobriety tests and resisted officers attempts to take him into custody. Officers located marijuana in Moore’s possession. Moore refused to submit to a chemical test at police headquarters. Moore was arraigned by Town Justice Wagner and released on his own recognizance. Moore is scheduled to reappear in town court on March 1, 2017

Attempted Assault 3rd Arrest

On January 25th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 24 year old Ellissa Carmin, of Schodack NY. Ms. Carmin was arrested for Attempt Assault in the Third degree, a misdemeanor, stemming from a domestic dispute with a family member. She was arraigned in the Schodack Town Court and released on her own recognizance due to appear back on 02/08/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Investigation leads to arrest for grand larceny and criminal contempt of court

On February 1, 2017, The Town of Schodack Police Department arrested Megan Chapman, 36 of 1002 Muitzeskill Rd, Schodack for Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Contempt of Court 2nd Degree, Unlawful possession of personal identification information in the 3rd Degree, and Petit Larceny. An investigation by Det. Sgt. Thomas and Officer Roehr, revealed that Ms. Chapman used the victims debit card without permission and used the victim’s identification to pass checks from the victim’s checking account. Ms. Chapman admitted to the larceny and fraud. Ms. Chapman was arraigned before Town of Schodack Justice Wagner and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 bail. Ms. Chapman’s return date to court is yet to be determined.

auto accident leads to DWAI drugs and drug possession charges

On February 2, 2017, The Town of Schodack Police Department arrested Angelo Lacoy, 35 of 2 Madison Ave Apt 2 Rensselaer, NY for DWAI Drugs, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree all related to a motor vehicle accident on Maple Hill Road at Mid-State Lane in the Town of Schodack. Officers responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident and discovered a red pickup truck had struck a tree and a telephone pole. The impact had snapped the utility pole and wires were across the road. Mr. Lacoy resisted officers’ attempts to remove him from the vehicle and place him into custody. A small quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia was found in Mr. Lacoy’s vehicle. Mr. Lacoy was transported by Castleton Ambulance to Albany Medical Center for medical attention and for a blood draw. State Police assisted at the scene. Lacoy is schedule to appear in Town of Schodack Court on February 8, 2017 at 6:00 pm to answer the charges.
