DWI Arrest

On September 21st, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 52 year old Angela Kent of Castleton, NY. Ms. Kent was stopped on State Route 9 after she nearly caused an accident with a marked Schodack Police unit. Further investigation revealed that Ms. Kent was intoxicated and she was charged with Aggravated DWI for having a BAC above .18%. She was released on traffic tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 10/11/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Animal Cruelty Arrest

On September 29th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 32 year old Amanda Laskoe of Niskayuna, NY. Ms. Laskoe was arrested by after leaving her dog in a vehicle for several hours without proper ventilation on a warm day in June of this year. The dog ultimately died from the extreme conditions. Ms. Laskoe turned herself in voluntarily at the Schodack Police Department and was issued appearance tickets to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 11/08/2017 at 06:00 PM on the misdemeanor Agriculture and Markets charge of Injuring an Animal and the violation of Confinement of a Companion Animal in Extreme Temperatures.

Petit Larceny Arrest

10-02-2017 @ 13:40,General,SPD,

On August 31st, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 20 year old Edward Firnstein of Stuyvesant, NY. Mr. Firnstein was the primary suspect in a larceny investigation at a local warehouse conducted by Sergeant Roy. Mr. Firnstein was found to be in possession of two stolen computers and was arrested for Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree, both misdemeanors. He was released with appearance tickets due back in the Schodack Town Court on 09/13/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Sex Offender Failure to Report Arrest

On September 30th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 26 year old Ronaldo Martel of Schodack, NY. Mr. Martel was arrested after an investigation was conducted by Officer Eckel and it was discovered that Mr. Martel failed to abide by his obligation to report an address change as required by registered sex offender in New York State. He was arrested and charged with the Felony of Failing to Report an Address Change and was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail with $20,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was set in the Schodack Town Court.

Felony AUO Arrest

On August 3rd, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 47 year old Cynthia Sutherland of Nassau, NY. Ms. Sutherland was stopped on East Schodack Rd for failure to keep right and excessive smoke from the exhaust system. Ms. Sutherland at the time had 16 suspensions/revocations on her license imposed on over 10 different dates. She was arrested and processed at the Schodack Police Department for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the first degree. She will appear back in the Schodack Town Court on 09/13/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th arrest

On July 14th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 25 year old Kyle Coyle of Nassau, NY. Mr. Coyle was stopped on State Route 20 for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. His license was suspended as well for a prior DWI conviction and he did not have an interlock in his vehicle as he was requied to. Mr. Coyle also possessed an illegal knife. He was arrested and released with appearance tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 08/09/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Warrant execution leads to multiple charges

On July 21st, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 39 year old Anthony Paradise of Schodack, NY. Mr. Paradise was wanted by New York State Police and Schodack Police Deapartment for violating an order of protection, protecting his ex-wife, on several occasions. Mr. Paradise was located in the Curtis Trailer Park and when officers attempted to arrest him he armed himself with a metal handle and resisted arrest. He was subdued using a "Taser" and eventually taken into custody without him being injured. One officer did substain injuries during the struggle and was transported to the hospital for evalutation. He was arrested for the follwing: Criminal Contempt 1st degree, Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree, Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Manacing 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.

Charges for Criminal Tampering 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree were filed later in the day when it was discovered that he removed a tire off of a vehicle in the Route 150 Park and Ride parking lot and attempted to place on his vehicle to replace a flat tire.

DWI Arrest

On July 22nd, 2017 at 08:29 AM the Schodack Police Department arrested 23 year old Christian Ruhlman of Schodack, NY. Mr. Ruhlman was stopped on Columbia Turnpike for speeding. He was then arrested for misdemeanor DWI. His BAC was 0.08%. He was issued traffic tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 08/02/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Aggravated DWI Arrest

On July 21st, 2017 at 04:30 PM the Schodack Police Department arrested 40 year old Michael McCarthy of Schenectady, NY. Mr. McCarthy was observed driving erratically on Columbia Turnpike by Officer Miller. He was stopped, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, failed field sobriety tests, and was arrested. His BAC was 0.23%, almost three times the legal driving limit. He was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and released with traffic tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 09/06/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Arrest

On July 04th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 25 year old William Moxon of Schodack, NY. Mr. Moxon was found asleep at the wheel in a running vehicle at the Shine Time car wash. He was found to be in possession of Alprazolam without a prescription. He was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and released with an apperance ticket due to appear in the Schodack Town Court at a later date.

Burglary 3rd Degree Arrest

On July 14th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 27 year old John Weinheimer of Schodack, NY. Mr. Weinheimer was arrested after an investigation revealed he stole and was in possession of a motorcycle taken out of the victims shed. The motorcycle was recovered as a result of the investigation. He was arrested for Burglary 3rd degree, Grand Larceny 4th degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, all felonies. He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.

Petit Larceny Arrest

On July 10th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 64 year old Alicia Wiley of East Greenbush, NY. Ms. Wiley was arrested for Petit Larceny after stealing products from the Stewarts Shop on Columbia Turnpike. She was released on an appearance ticket due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 08/02/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Forcible Touching Arrest

On July 31st, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 22 year old Alexander Pagen of Bronx, NY. Mr. Pagen was arrested stemming from an investigation of an alledged attemted sexual assault on South Schodack Rd. Mr. Pagen was arrested for Forcible Touching, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree, and Forcible Touching. He was arrainged in the Schodack Town Court.

DWI/ Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Arrest

On July 22nd, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 38 year old Daniel Harris of Windham, ME. Mr. Harris was involved in a one car traffic accident on State Route 9. Mr. Harris was injured in the crash and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Mr. Harris was subsequently arrested for Driving While Ability Imparied by Drugs/Alcohol, Driving While Intoxicated, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (unlawfully possessing Xanax), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and other violations. He was issued traffic tickets and appearance tickets to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 08/09/2017 at 06:00 PM.

DWAI Drugs-Alcohol Arrest

On July 09th, 2017 at 02:35 AM the Schodack Police Department arrested 23 year old Sarah Blackwell of Cohoes, NY. Ms. Blackwell was involved in a single car traffic accident on East Schodack Rd where her vehicle left the road and severed a telephone pole. Ms. Blackwell was the only person involved in the crash. She was subsequently arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol/Drugs and other Vehicle and Traffic Law charges. Ms. Blackwell was released with traffic tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 08/02/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Grand Larceny 3rd/ CPSP 3rd Arrest

On July 4th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 23 year old Kymberly Carroll of Schodack, NY. The Schodack Police Department received a complaint of a possible stolen vehicle from Seaman Ave in the Village of Castleton. While processing information from the complaint, the vehicle was tracked on State Route 9J from On Star and was recovered by patrol as it returned to a residence on Seaman Ave. The operator was identified as Kymberly Carroll who was the suspect in the incdent. She was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree and Ms. Carroll also had several outstanding warrants. She was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail pending a preliminary hearing.

Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Arrest

On June 24th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 42 year old Phillip Cates of Portland, ME. Mr. Cates was stopped for operating a vehicle with New York plates without an inspection or registration sticker on Miller Rd. Mr. Cates was found to be operating an unregistered/uninsured vehicle with switched plates and without possessing a valid drivers license. Mr. Cates was also found to be in possession of over two ounces of Marijuana. He was arrested and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail with bail and is due to appear back in the Schodack Town Court on 07/05/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Domestic Dispute Arrest

On June 19th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 27 year old Nathaniel Jennings of Philmont, NY. Mr. Jennings was arrested after allegations were made that during a domestic dispute with his spouse he restrained her, grabbed her around the throat, and caused bruising to her arm. Mr. Jennings was charged with Assault in the Third Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree. He was arrested and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail with bail and a hold from New York State Parole. He is due to appear back in the Schodack Town Court on 07/05/2017 at 06:00 PM.

DWI Arrest

On June 05th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 50 year old Mark Darrigo of Schodack, NY. Mr. Darrigo was stopped on State Route 9J for failing to maintain his lane. Field sobriety tests showed impairment and he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Mr. Darrigo's BAC will be determined from a blood test that was conducted. Mr. Darrigo was released with traffic tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 06/28/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th

On June 12th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 31 year old Kyle Butler of Schodack, NY. Mr. Butler was stopped on Columbia Turnpike for not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Butler was found to be in possession of a crack pipe and a digital scale. He was arraigned and remanded to the Renssselaer County Jail with bail. Mr. Butler will appear in the Schodack Town Court on 06/14/2017 at 06:00 PM.

Mr. Winters was stopped on River Rd in Schodack Landing for failure to keep right and operating an unregistered/uninspected vehicle. Field sobriety tests showed impairment and he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. His BAC was 0.08%. He was released with traffic tickets due to appear in the Schodack Town Court on 06/14//2017 at 06:00 PM.
